The Studios That Don’t Exist Yet…
Something interesting happened this week.
We started looking for soundstages. Not in Hollywood. Closer to home.
You know what we found?
Nothing.
San Diego County: Zero significant soundstages. Las Vegas: Only one worth mentioning. And it’s small.
Meanwhile, some of the biggest names in entertainment just tried to build a major studio complex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Multiple soundstages. Massive footprint.
The kind of facility that changes a region — the kind that gets built for tens of millions and becomes worth billions.
Just ask Toronto. Ask the people who built the Titanic stages in Mexico.
But, Vegas died. One vote. That’s how close they got. A tax incentive bill failed by a single vote.
Major players with capital ready to deploy. Can’t move forward.
Why am I telling you this?
Because gaps in the market don’t stay gaps forever.
THE STUDIOS THAT DON’T EXIST… YET.
Space Samurai needs a home. So does everything that comes after.
Some people build movies. Some people build the places where movies get made. Some people build empires…
We’ve been thinking about which kind of company Angelic Pictures wants to be.
I think you can guess.
AND THEN THERE’S THE OTHER THING.
Angelic Pictures is working on something big. Something beyond entertainment.
The future of movie making requires a paradigm shift. New technologies. New ways of storing. New ways of processing.
Which Angelic Pictures will be developing.
I’m not going to say more than that. Not yet.
But movies are just one piece…
WHAT’S NEXT:
Space Samurai: Oasis production prep continues. Location scouting is active. The pieces are moving, and coming together.
But the pieces are bigger than one movie. Bigger than three movies.
Questions Angelic Pictures is asking internally:
What would it take to build something that lasts generations, not just release cycles?
